Since we opened our doors in 1990, we have been Steamboat's largest full service bookstore and the locals' favorite meeting place for Good Books, Good Coffee and Good Friends. What about our store? We are a full service, independent bookstore, with extensive collections of current literature, fiction, history and memoirs, young adults. We feature a large children’s collection, and our famous treehouse reading space where our youngest children can escape. Our café serves the best coffee drinks in town, pastries, Big Train drinks, smoothies, soups and salads for lunch, and wine in the evening. We are pleased to be serving Storm Mountain Coffee, roasted locally in Oak Creek.

I found this store while wandering around downtown Steamboat Springs. It's not that hard to find...just down a side street. I love local independent bookstores and this one did not disappoint. The iced chai was delicious and I purchased a couple books. It has good seating upstairs.

Off the Beaten Path bookstore in downtown Steamboat is a must stop on every visit. It is small but seems much larger. Tremendous selection with lots of astute recommendations. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great coffee bar. Extensive kids and used books sections. Plentiful readings and events. I always leave with more great books than I plan to. Worth a look.

Very nice book store with extremely nice people working there! Great place to get a cup of coffee and browse around for a neat book or to just sit back and enjoy the laid back atmosphere!

Good coffees, friendly folks and good selection of books. If they don't have it,they will order it for you. I think I will go back tomorrow while it snows outside and shop for Christmas. P.S. they also have adult zen coloring books and puzzles.

I love bookstores, and this one was just awesome! Great for kids and adults alike. If you didn't find anything you liked, then you weren't really looking.

I love that I can find a little oasis at this bookstore. It's easy to find something yummy and sit down with a new book or my journal. It's easy to pass an afternoon with some coffee or tea and relax in a quiet space upstairs or on the main floor. I never pass up an opportunity to stop by... More

I love this Book Store and always find interesting books here. They have a nice café where you can get all types of drinks, cookies, muffins, scones and other goodies. Our 2 Grandson's loved all the books. They have tables, seats and other seats so you can read and check out the books. This is on 9th Street off of... More

Walking around downtown we came across this little gem. Not over stocked with books, but great selection of both new releases and a "gently used" section. The coffee nook within the book store is a perfect compliment. They offer specialty drinks named after books, as well as the standard selections. I may be slightly biased, as I love books AND... Living just outside of Denver, we make a point to visit Steamboat at least once a summer. This year marks our fifth consecutive year spending a couple weeks in the mountains once school is out. In those five years, we've made a point to visit this bookstore every time, and each year, it feels like an entirely new store. They... More

Management response:

Jerry, Thank you for your review and especially for your criticism. I especially appreciate your reaction to our children's section, as it means we're doing something wrong in showing our collection, as it has the same number of books - 3600 - as it has for the past two years, and the distribution between teen fiction and other children's books...
