This is something that I did with friends late Summer. It's a bit expensive, but for someone who is somewhat disabled a good activity. At the top of the gondola is a path with an easy hiking trail...about a mile in length. There was a broad array of wild flowers and mountain Vista's...ending back at the large Alpine Lodge/Restaurant (gondola... More

You pay a lot but it's worth it, the staff are fantastic and it's so memorable. Shame we never got to do it in the summer, that would have been a fantastic experience.

I love going up the gondola, even during the summer. The views are great going up and down, day or night.

A beautiful and breathtaking ride to Thunder Lodge. Thursday included a special rate at 5 pm to view the afternoon sunset. The food was good also. But oh what a view

I'm not a skier but wanted to check the view from the top. There is a decent restaurant with a nice bar at the top.

I rode the gondola with my daughter, son-in-law, and their 3 and 6 year old boys, so the boys could try skiing for a short time. The ride was wonderful, with great views of the countryside. Getting on and off was easy, with attendants to help those of us who needed assistance. I highly recommend this ride, even if you... More

We've skied Steamboat numerous times. It's easy to figure out when the busy times are going to be (morning, holidays). At those points the lines can get pretty long. I appreciate that the staff is always right there to assist- we have kids ages 10, 7 and 4 1/2 so there's always a good chance someone needs an extra hand!... More

The trip up the Gondola to the "Gondola House - 1/2 way up the mountain" is typically terrific. Knowing that, we've gotten stuck on the Gondola twice for more than 25 minutes (while they switched over to generators due to a loss of municipal power); thus keep a deck of playing cards in your jacket.

We had an 8 day pass so the $15/person went away. This was one of the few times we didn't feel over charged on the mountain. Good music, fantastic sunset and good apps!
