We have been going to Vail for over 20 years and never stopped to visit this museum. We had a shuttle to Denver and had a couple hours to kill so we visited. It was great!. The displays were very informative and up to date. It was a nice variety of info about Vail, the Olympics, ski and snowboard history.... More

Nice museum - open to the public free of charge (although they do take donations). It was quaintly done and they had interesting facts about equipment and Olympic history (achievements by Team USA). They also had some great souvenirs - worth a visit if you have about 30 min of time.

It is a real bargain in a town with few of low price options. We gave a voluntary donation and enjoyed a trip down memory lane, finding our old skis... More

For me, walking through this museum was a trip down memory lane. For my daughter, seeing the old-timey boots and bindings was interesting. When I pointed out the Reichles that hurt my feet, she just laughed. But there is a lot of stuff in here, it's organized well, separating ski history from snowboard history, with a special display for competition... More

Free museum that you could spend 15 min or 2 hours exploring. Everyone visiting Vail should know about the 10th Mountain Division, the US Army WWII unit trained in the Rockies to be a unique force fighting in the mountains of northern Italy; they pioneered the development of the Colorado ski industry. Also on display are Olympic uniforms, photos, videos... More

The Colorado Ski Museum was a nice visit. It took us about 90-minutes for the total experience. We particularly enjoyed and appreciated the exhibit about the 10th Mountain Division, US Army WWII unit who trained in the Colorado Mountains and fought in the mountains of northern Italy. It filled us with patriotism and inspiration for the sport of skiing, hiking... More
