Great Trails

We rode the shuttle from our hotel to the Vail Nordic Center. They did, however, seem to have ample parking if you prefer to drive. We paid $10 each for a pass. We snowshoed for... read more

Had fun my first time cross country skiing... Rebecca was a great teacher. I just wish the trails were clearly marked. Other than a map, there were no markers. I was a tad intimidated wondering if I would end up on the wrong trail. Other than that it was great! Peaceful, relaxing, and a great workout! No pressure that goes... More

We rode the shuttle from our hotel to the Vail Nordic Center. They did, however, seem to have ample parking if you prefer to drive. We paid $10 each for a pass. We snowshoed for about 90 minutes on nicely groomed trails on a lovely sunny day. The snowshoe and cross country ski trails are next to each other and... More

I took a skate style cross-country skiing lesson with my dad. I had been a couple of times but was not competent in my skills to give my dad any tips. Andy our instructor did a great job getting us moving on the snow. The new building for the Nordic center is very nice and they were serving brats for... More

We booked a half day cross country tour at the Vail Nordic School and Eric was a great teacher! We had a great time, learned a lot and improved our techniques during this half day tour. The equipment and boots were provided in the cost of the class, as well as water and granola bars. Weather was perfect for a... More

From the moment I made the reservations 6 months before coming to Vail for opening days, I was treated like royalty. Joe was in contact with me about what to expect and he delivered; from fresh snow to an absolutely well-designed experience. I had not done cross country skiing in over 40 years and my sister had never participated. Needless... More

Great scenery and well prepared tracks. They are doing a nice job preparing the tracks, even with little snow. Not a bad way to get a good workout in.

Since I wasn't allowed to ski my Doc suggested snowshoe or nordic( cross country). So the first day we tried snowshoe at the Nordic center aka golf cours. There is a very small charge for rental and they fit you. Don't wear great boots as the strapping will rub on them. We had a lot of fun and walked a... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the cross country ski trails at Vail. It was only my third time doing this sport and it is great exercise. The trails were groomed along the sides but no tracks were present in the middle. Cost not nearly as outrageous as a lift ticket for downhill skiing at Vail so you don't feel like you need... More

This is a great place to go if you want to learn or do some cross-country skiing... I had never been and the instruction was excellent and I liked being on the golf course.. Bus stops right in front and staff all very accommodating. I highly recommend if you want to try something different in Vail...

I finally had an opportunity to try cross-country skiing on our just-completed family vacation at Vail. While the grandkids were in ski-school I took my five adult family members to the Nordic Center at Golden Peak. I had already had a great phone conversation with Joe, the director, because my group included my wife, daughter, and daughter-in-law. Our original plan... More
