Laguna Verde is the windiest place I have ever experienced. It is on the border of Argentina, Chile and Bolivia with an active volcano next to it and a crazy aqua green color, it is a truly surreal sight. There are no flamingoes like some...More

It is indeed eye-catching to see the lake from a distance. The minerals in the sea and the sunlight create the amazing view.

The Laguna Verde is part of the Reserva Nacoinal de Fauna Andina Eduardo Avaroa. Excursions to/from Uyuni - San Pedre de Atacama stop at this lake with flamingos.

We visited Bolivia with our two children - aged 9 & 10. The altitude is quite high reaching 4970m above sea level throughout the day. Kids were fine. The lakes are amazing and worth the trip from Atacama.

If you arrive at the right time of day this lake is bright emerald green - spectacular. It can get windy and then this too can alter the colour you see. Your guides should know when the right time to go is but we saw...More

Wow, is it green. Our guide tells us the color is due to the arsenic that is present and the more the wind blows the greener the lagoon gets. So attend on a windy day. If you are interested in a trip across Bolivia see...More

Very interesting place to visit however it was very windy and cold.. The green colour is apparently better when it is windy but you do not get the beautiful reflections of Licancabur volcano
