Lots of things to do here: hiking, camping, mountain biking, snow sports, etc. The visitor center is nice and there are lots of birds at the feeders. Didn't see any moose here but it looked great for them and people I talked to had seen them. Very pretty scenery and good fall colors. The campgrounds are nice and well-maintained.

We stumbled upon this while looking for moose. We drove up to the Moose overlook platform, and saw some birds but no moose. There is a very nice nature trail on the other side of the road, with brochures and markers to explain what you are looking for. We saw quite a few different birds and had a very enjoyable... More

We spent a sunny winter afternoon touring the backroads of State Forest State Park hoping for a moose sighting. While we did see dozens of antelope on the way on our drive from Kremmling, no moose were to be had within the park. Beautiful area though and well worth checking out.County Road 41 is well maintained and an easy car... More

I've lived in Colorado for 20 years and have never seen a moose! We decided to head up to State Forest State Park in search of moose! I'm thrilled to say that we saw probably five or six! Made my day and the park is beautiful!

Excellent, modern visitor center designed to educate visitors about the all-too-elusive moose rumored to inhabit the area. Still, the park ranger on duty gave us great advice about hikes to take on our visit to the park. (If you opt to hike to Lake Agnes, be prepared for a steep, rocky road for a 2WD vehicle. You'll want good shoes,... More

We decided to go up mid afternoon and stay until after dusk!! We went to several locations recommended by the ranger at the Moose Visitors Center. The road that paid off was Long Draw Road where we saw a cow with her baby. We we able to watch for quite some time as they were chewing on the bushes!! A... More

Our son and family had a beautiful motor home space. It was space 227 on North Michigan Lake. It was a little cold but we had a great time.

On our way out of Walden we rode through this area. You are basically in a long valley with surrounding mountains. May even see a moose.

Sometimes we get so excited about the national parks that we forget about the neighboring state parks. In State Forest State Park you can see some of the same views that you can see in RMNP. You can see moose and hike. You can find a quiet spot to sit and just be. We were very happy with our time... More

No shade, no trees, no privacy. Blame the beetle kill but it's all open in both Ranger Lakes and Bockman. Nice views of the Rawahs if you look past all of the clear cut swatches. Drove thru today looking for future possibilities. Have to say that the Crags CG was the best. Quiet, private sites. No RVs is probably why... More
