Like any park in a major city it has its draw backs at times. For the most part it is a great park to enjoy in the warmer moths. I would just check on line before you come from a distance to make sure there are no city activities going on that would close it or interfere with your plans.

Very pretty park in what feels like the middle of Hartford. Good views of the skyline, plus a good amount of attractions dotted throughout. The carousel looks nice! I walked around on a frigid day in March so there wasn't much to really do or see.

I walked here every day (weather permitting) when I worked downtown. Carousel and playground for kids in summer. Art pieces and sculpture. State Capitol at one end and the Wadsworth Atheneum at the other. Great green space in the city center.

Bushnell Park is the oldest publicly funded park in the United States and has great space in the middle of the city amongst the skyscrapers. Right now there are no scheduled events but check out their website come Spring. The Bushnell Park Carousel for the young at heart will be opened then and shouldn't be missed. Tours of the Soldiers... More

Bushnell Park is a beautiful urban park with footpaths and ponds and a terrific antique carousel (summers only). It is a great venue for music festivals and during the day there is a very good selection of food trucks parked nearby for lunch.

I have attended jazz concerts and other events at this park. It is a great outdoor venue and offers activities for the entire family during the spring and summer.

Bushnell Park is another gem in the city of Hartford. Lots of year-round activities. Located centrally and easily accessible by foot, car or public transportation. Home to one of the oldest carousel in the US and to the Greater Hartford Jazz Festival. The park is nestled among a variety of restaurants and businesses including the beautiful CT State Capitol.

I just wandered around taking an early morning walk. Not much going on at that hour, but the park was clean and pleasant.

Lovely safe park to walk through with a magnificient view of the Capital Building. Shame the carousel was closed but we could peek in the window to see it.

I was working closeby and this was a nice little distraction for lunchtime. Besides the walking paths, along the side of the park toward the state capitol there are vendor trucks at lunchtime and the food is pretty good. Every cuisine is represented I think, American, Mexican, Italian, Greek, Chinese, etc. Prices were medium range but they give you a... More
