Bobolinks are remarkable birds with dizzying, hilarious distraction techniques to keep people away from their nests on the ground in the fields May-June. Just a lovely place to walk. Miles of easy paths with occasional picnic benches, long views, a small pond and wild life viewing shed. Flowering trees in spring and small parking lot gets very crowded with couples... More

Beautiful scenery, easy walks for families. Good for birders and naturalists. Don't miss the 2 days a year that the main house is open to the public.

I have lived locally for all my life and never knew this place existed. We went for an approximate two mile walk round trip. There is much more area to explore on the next trip to this beautiful place. It seems to be relatively easy walking. I really liked it. The only thing I didn't like was the horse manure... More

Great place to walk even with your dog (s). Beautiful cirroundings. Very peaceful. Check the schedules on line to be sure you can tour the Chase (Brass) home on the site. Very beautiful.

Topsmead is an estate & garden property off the beaten trail, but worth a trip. Free admission to the grounds & home tour. Seasonal. Lovely location to hike or picnic or simple relax. Beautiful vistas.

Quiet country road making you feel like you are in the English countryside with the back drop of the Cottage style house. Very nice place for walks and contemplation.

Went to Topsmead to spend alone time with my boyfriend and do something relaxing. And, I can say, this state park was such a Grrrrrrreat place to hangout out, walk trails and explore. Topsmead looks like a great place to have a wedding, a photo shoot, or just take pictures in general. Topsmead is an amazing state park that's well... More

Took the teenagers and dog for a nice walk on a few trails and had a blast. Beautiful grounds, views and fresh air with a great pond to skim rocks across- it's a go to " get away from the computer" place!

This is a CT State park but you will feel like you are at a private estate. Any time of year is a good time to go for a peaceful walk, a run, a picnic, kite flying or enjoy glass of wine and watch the panoramic sunset. I have been going here for 30+ years, Dogs are allowed on leashes

Have walked the fields in all seasons. Never disappointed. They periodically give house tours (excellent). Two Porto potty in fields and a flush next to the house. Great place to picnic. There is a small pond also.
