We visited the Rann Utsav this year and it was so surreal and magnificent. The desert and the stay was ones in a lifetime experience . The food served there was out of the world. Classy kathiyawadi food and the tents were amazing.

Visiting this ‘desert’, on a full-moon night is simply surreal. The glistening white salt in the moonlight is a sight to behold. The best time to visit this desert is around full-moon, where one can watch the grand spectacle of the setting sun and the moon-rise almost simultaneously. The hues of the setting sun reflecting on the white salt is... More

The White Rann was every bit what we had thought and so much more !! I felt so proud that this white desert is in our country. I and my husband just walked quite far without indulging in any of the activities there. And believe me , that was surreal and out of the world. The rannutsav added charm. I'm... More

The online literature , pics & travelogues make this place a definite on every traveller's to do list , but once you are here then only it will sink upon on how surreal the experience is . One will get to know that how nature's intricately slow processes define what we see in its vastness and the landscapes as white... More

The most interesting thing about this event is having to get special permissions to enter (proximity to Pakistan) and the requests by selfie-obsessed Indians to pose with them in photos...and there were some nice craft booths...although nothing one hasn't seen before. Bring water..it's hot and dry.

Great Rann of Kutch is a seasonal salt marsh located in the Kutch area of Gujarat. This is of the largest salt marshes and is filled with water during the monsoons. November to February is the time during which the Govt of Gujarat organises Rann utsav creating an air of festivities. The white desert looks stunning and provides ample photo... More

White every where!! It was awesome. Miles of white salt beneath out feet and miles of blue sky above us. Best place for sunset and sunrise. Walk inside salt land for few meters to get away from normal crowd to properly enjoy this beauty. Get creative and click some crazy pics which are not possible elsewhere. We reached here in... More

Great Rann of Kutch is indeed great. Some what less known in rest of India, due to efforts of Gujarat tourism some awareness is spreading outside Gujarat. Definitely requires lot more of tourist inflow to do justice to the place. However the place is accessible to tourists only from Novemebr to Feb. the White desert a vast expanse of salt... More
