Stunning colours in the fall

Went during the fall colours and it was spectacular. Facilities were shut, so it was very quiet and we had the beach almost to ourselves.

We came here on a work day and the place was empty. So quiet and peaceful it was awesome. The lake is very clear and shallow for a good stretch. There are barbecues nearby with tables for people to bring their own food and cook. Nothing like that in the UK.

Being a local I know that in the summer the weekends are a bust because of high volume of people. During the week is much better to enjoy the grounds and the swimming area. I particularly like this park in the fall and spring. Great place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. Overall the pond is clean, good... More

This is supposed to be a very nice lake but unless you arrive bright and early you will not be able to get into the pond, their is a maximum of 200 cars allowed and quite frankly this is not enough. My family and I were not able to make it into the Pond.

I was in this place at the weekend and I was amazed at the number of people and the beauty of the place. Water , beach , gazebo , grill , fishing, all excellent ! But there are some downsides, the first is garbage the second is the fee for entrance and a ban on alcohol. Of the 10 parks... More

Honestly in the past lakes and parks was not my favorite place to go, until i found Squantz pond, very nice park, beach is clean, very organized, and you can make and bring your own food, there is a sodas machines, and a ice cream truck that goes that in some parts of the day.

This spot is absolutely beautiful; so scenic. Unfortunately, it's taken over by New Yorkers and reaches full capacity early morning on weekends. But... if you can go during the weekend, it's not at all crowded and is perfect. As a CT resident, I paid $9 per car to get in. They have reasonably clean bathrooms and changing facilities, grills, and... More

The lake is beautiful and nestled among the rolling hills of western Connecticut. It was perfectly calm and quiet with only 2 motor boats during our summer afternoon of kayaking. There was a refreshing breeze which was nice because temperatures were in the upper 80's! Kayak and canoe rentals were a reasonable $10 per hour and included life preservers (although... More

Squantz Pond is certainly quieter than Candlewood Lake (right across the way) but it a great place to spend the day or just afternoon! For a beginner kayaker - this lake is perfect to work on your skills or just float around looking at all the different houses. Remember that after Memorial Day you have to pay to park, especially... I absolutely love this state park! The lake is my favorite part. I get to enjoy being in the water and having a beautiful scenery ahead of me. I went with a couple of friends and we had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend this state park. It's very family friendly and perfect for children.
