Fun place to see shows

The smaller nature of the venue makes for good acoustics. As with many older places, there isn't an abundance of leg room. But they get good shows and the staff is really friendly.

I've been to several shows at the Shubert. the space is not overwhelming, and you can usually get a decent seat. No show is here for very long, but lots of decent shows come through. Definitely expands New Haven's cultural offerings.

I visited The Shubert on a Sunday night to see Lewis Black. First time there. Its a 1600 seat theater built in 1914. Its beautiful. It brings in Broadway shows, musical acts, comedians to list a few. My wife and I saw this very funny show this past weekend and had a great time. The show's songs were outstanding and the acting fabulous. I was especially impressed with the decor inside the Schubert.....beautifully done! Great location just off the downtown green!

Shubert Theater is a finely appointed facility that is well maintained. Plenty of parking in nearby lots and garages. Every other row is staggered. To avoid having a person in front of you block your view of the stage, choose rows A, C, E, G, I ...

It's nice that this small theater has been saved from the wrecking ball. A pretty theater with good sight lines and acoustics. However, tight, cramped seats: if you're a big person you'll likely be uncomfortable.
