I love coming to New Haven for the holidays to visit family and visit the many places i frequented as a nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital. The Christmas tree is one of the things I especially love to enjoy from my suite at the Omni Hotel.

Great place to relax and enjoy the view. During the warmer weather there are many fairs and musicians performing. It is a great place to picnic with the family.

The green is lovely, especially during the day. Three churches are directly on the green, and it is a good stop to pick up the local bus. During the year, various festivals are held on the green and it is a nice place to picnic. That said, be aware and always protect your personal safety. At night, you should be... More

After some improvement has taken a slide again with public drinking, peeing and panhandling. New Haven now replacing police chief so we hope for better days with no vagrants to annoy people who viisit the Green. It is so bad now the vagrants even go up to the front of the Church Street court house and sleep there. You have... More

The Puritans measured the settlement of New Haven's Town Green to hold 144,000 people, because that was the number of souls prophesied to be saved in the Rapture--and the town fathers wanted a good spot for the airlift. When Hurricane Sandy descended in the fall of 2012, an upturned oak revealed at its roots a skeleton likely dating to Colonial times,... The New Haven Green is a very nice place during the day. its nothing amazing, but if you're in the mood for a good walk it works very well. however, i do not recommend anyone go here at night. some of the people who hang around aren't the best.

This green has seen a lot of demonstrations, especially in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is not the Central Park of Manhattan by any means, it is just a small plot of grass in the middle of a modest town. But it is very typical of the town greens of New England. Along one side is the main... More

Surrounded by uninteresting buildings and busy streets. Filled with transients. No students -- they are smart enough to go elsewhere. Not at all worth seeking out. Can not imagine walking through it at night.

This is a beautiful part of New Haven, especially in the summer! Be careful though, there are some very 'shady' characters abound

This was not for us. Grabbing a Subway sandwich forced us to watch a drug deal going down. When the dealer came into the shop, we skedaddled. We expected to see a lot of student activity since the Green abuts Yale University, but evidently the students don't hang around either.
