A little frustrated because the web site said it was open 11:00, but it neglected to say that it was open only June through September. We peeked inside and saw the one room schoolhouse and imagined Hale being a youngster there. Probably didn’t miss much...More

A nice small museum about a man who should be better known. A real hero. Also good exhibits on the nature of schooling in those days.

Stopped here to see the school and found it's only open for a few hours on Saturday after Labor Day. You could look in the windows to see the schoolhouse set up.

Most interesting, especially for us Connecticutites! A great place to take children who are learning about US history.

You can't miss the School House as it's the first thing you see from the train and anywhere around the main square in town. It stands out as it’s a small, bright red 1770’s wooden house sitting in the shadow of taller, modern buildings behind...More

The schoolhouse has been here since 2002, maybe before. It is directly across from Union Train Station and has a sculpture of a large whale tail. The schoolhouse is open from May to October and from 11 am to 4 pm... It's a nice piece...More
