this former Wyland mural was peeling and in disrepair. it had been touched up once or twice, but then the current building owner really did a complete and very disappointing do-over. the mural really can't be called a Wyland at this point. Too bad.

Our kids thought this was a really cool wall. They loved the size of the whales in the mural. We were yelled at twice between our car and the mural, so that marred our experience.

There a re a few of these murals around downtown New London. Nice to see a revitalization effort under way. Beautiful and history building all around this area.

I vaguely remember this wall being painted back when I lived in New London. It is distinctive, but I was never fond of it.

There are many hand painted art works on buildings in downtown New London. The visitor's center may have material talking about all of them. Makes for a nice walk around the city to find them all!

The Whaling Wall is just one of several walls painted by local artists. New London could and should be a great waterfront city not to be missed but it continues to struggle. You can walk the downtown area to see the wall art and enjoy...More

Kids loved looking at the painting. Very impressive. Painted by Wyland who does amazing art work of sea life.
