The Hobbiton Movie Set tour is an essential stop on the itinerary for all visitors travelling through New Zealand, offering an interesting and entertaining experience incorporating the famous film set as seen in The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Fall in love with the Alexander family sheep and beef farm, just as acclaimed director Sir Peter Jackson did, as you journey through the village, with the mighty Kaimai Ranges towering in the distance. Your guide will then escort you around the set, showing you the intricate detailing, pointing out the most famous locations and explaining how the movie magic was made. You will be taken around the 12 acre set; past Hobbit holes, the Mill and into the famous Green Dragon™ Inn, where you can indulge in our exclusive, specially brewed beverages to conclude your own Middle-earth™ adventure.

A bit pricey but we enjoyed it so much. Very well maintained and lovely place. We enjoyed the drink included in the ticket price as well. I think they should also sell the ticket without a tour guide as for us, we didnt listen to...More

Yes, another review of Hobbiton...well, as a fan of the books and films, and in NZ for the Lions Tour it was too good to miss. I liked the little touch of adding a Hobbiton Rugby pitch with some "interesting" score lines - depending on...More

Excellent guides, great place. All Tolkein fans should visit!! We didn't see anyone dressed up but apparently some folks do go in character. A MUST SEE VENUE IF YOU'RE ANYWHERE NEAR.

My wife and I went to Hobbiton and had a fantastic day. The tour is a great pace (plenty of time for pictures) mixed with tons of fun facts along the way. Also they do a good job of spacing out the tour groups so...More

Our bus driver and guide gave the impression from the off that they clearly enjoyed their jobs. Both of them were enthusiastic and well informed. Our guide had lots of interesting inside knowledge about the films and the set. Hobbiton itself is beautiful and well...More

Pretty cool to see the hobbit holes and pub with a very friendly & informative guide. But, extremely expensive for a family of 4 and not at all good value for money. Would add to the experience if they did the interior of a house...More
