West Corwall has not changed in 300 years. One of the last covered bridges in Connecticut. Worth a 2-3 hour detour from Manhattan.

This was one of our first Covered Bridge stops on our way from CT to VT. It's a beautiful bridge and quite scenic. It is in a nice quaint town. We found the best views north along the river looking back at it and the river. Interesting Fact - this covered bridge actually has glass windows - quite unusual. We... More

It's easy to imagine life in the past looking at and crossing this historical remnant of the past. It's a lovely setting and while there isn't much "to do" there, it's still fun to take a moment in a pretty part of Connecticut to enjoy such a well-maintained structure from the past.

Stopped by West Cornwall after hiking in the area. Love the little center of town. The covered bridge is a beauty. We drove right through and took many photos.

Great views, really nice river running through it - and on the other side is the Wandering Moose Cafe. Up the road a short bit is The Little Guild of St.Francis where you can do a good deed and walk or play with a dog or cat in the lovely green outdoors. The bridge is really nice inside and outside,... More

One of the best covered bridges I have seen. The red bridge is lovely against the green of the trees. A perfect setting for photos or to just appreciate a time long gone by. I am from the area but I never tire of seeing this great bridge.

It took about an hour to ride from Hartford to West Cornwall but the drive was scenic on this sunny Saturday - trending from city to suburban to rustic country classic. What was most wonderful was, once we reached the West Cornwall Covered Bridge, was being able to soak in a nice lunch at the Loose Moose Cafe. The timing... More
