Flanders is also a land trust with extensive nature sanctuaries for nature and wildlife observation and hiking. Top notch educational programs for youth and adults. Famous for their maple sugaring operation and demonstrations. Disclaimer: I co-chair their Photography Club and lead nature hikes.

Great summer camp that I used to attend when I was a kid. All of the volunteers worked hard and cared about the camp and teaching kids about the environment and different animal species. Overall, great experience and also very educational.

This was the second time I went with a group of friends to make a holiday wreath. Dianne guided us through the steps which involves crimping the greens on one of two very old machines. The process is just about fool proof. Dianne also showed us how to make our own bows. Greens, ribbon, and plenty of man made and... More

I like this place for a simple trail walk without too much effort. It's in a very peaceful part of Woodbury and kind of hard to pass by when you just want to sit and eat a picnic lunch. Clean, easy to walk, and good parking.

My children go to Flander's for summer camp and love it. Every year they ask for "farm camp." They explore all areas of the Nature center: trails, ponds, barn, etc. The counselors are fantastic as well! Flander's offers more than camp. There are different sites with different trails. All beautiful and well kept. Possibly one of my favorite places in... More

My boyfriend and I were pretty disappointed by this trail. We spend most weekends during the summer hiking or taking nature walks and have traveled all over the state. However, we were pretty disappointed by Flander's. There was not too much to see and the trails were not well defined.

My family and I enjoy hiking the trails at the nature preserve. There are some nice hikes through the woods and good look-outs over ponds. The maple sugar shack is fantastic, with tours during the season (check the website, but usually Feb-Mar). They collect their own sap on-site and have a still. The syrup is delicious!

Big fan of this place for a trail walk or hike any time of the year. The bog walk, as I refer to it, is less pleasant during the hot and sticky months, but the rest of the trails are beautiful with such peaceful surroundings. Not a lot of foot traffic there the several times I have gone, but not... More

So glad this land is preserved, and that the staff has taken an active interest in the community and the town's land. Also, they offer nice programs for volunteers and for adults and youth. Great syrup too.

Gem of a place. Great activities, camps and classes for kids. Brings you back to appreciating the simple pleasures of the outdoors. Miss Diane is honestly one of the most patient, loving individuals I have ever met. She loves all kids for who they are, and really makes each and every one feel loved and important.
