Sometimes the pictures do not match reality. Not this time. The garden is lovely. The house is everything you are expecting. The informative guided tour pulls it all together. Well worth the visit.

This historical site is located in Woodstock, CT in the "Quiet Corner" of the state. It is a well preserved look into how the upper class was able to live in the country during the summer months in the 1800's.

Beautiful historic house, with an equally beautiful garden. Very knowledgeable guides and helpful staff made our visit even more pleasant. We were particularly impressed by the lincrusta wall papers, unique! If you're in the area, it is definitely worth a visit.

Great historic restoration that's a gem example of period architecture. The grounds are well-cared for by a local collective of volunteers, and the Bowen family history gives a glimpse into early days of industrial grandeur.

My husband and I grew up in northeast Connecticut and saw Roseland Cottage (the Pink House, as we locals say) progress through years of rehabilitation and numerous shades of pink exterior paint. We have also witnessed improvements to the grounds, programs and the house tour....More
