Had a really lovely family christening celebration in the Carpenters Arms. Excellent host landlady and staff, thank you!
Really lovely old pub, bright, welcoming with a large beer garden.
The food was very good and all the staff so friendly and welcoming. Made the day extra special.

Food mixed bag, my mother and law had steak pie and chips which seemed decent but my wife and I had lasagne which is one of the most mediocre I've ever tasted and quite dry.
Another criticism was the fact you could not have your meal outside in the beer garden and had to come inside which was an uncomfortable experience. We would of preferred to sit outside as had our dogs with us, as this was a stop off to our holiday destination.

Our main criticism was the bar maid who was unfriendly, rude and quite frankly lifeless. We felt we were constantly watched and under her scrutinising gaze. Although it was a dog friendly pub, it didn't seem friendly due to the aforementioned bar maid (tall with short grey hair and glasses).
When we first came into the pub, we asked her where the toilets were and getting a response out of her seemed like a huge inconvenience.

Another lady who worked there was on her break and stood out at the front entrance of pub. She was much more friendly and nice to our dogs. Otherwise there were not many positives and would not return of back in the area

We dropped in here whilst travelling around the area. We had heard some horror stories from family and friends about how unwelcoming it was. On our visit we experienced none of this, the lady that served us was engaging and the decor inside was great as was the food.

Staying at a nearby caravan site and popped in to see if evening meals were available.
Yes they were and how good they were. The staff were very friendly and the food delicious. Very good portions.

We had a meal here on Saturday night. Meal was reasonably priced and service was good and prompt. I enjoyed my pint! Would recommend if you are in the area.

Meals were good but limited choice on menu, little on offer for vegetarians. Staff and locals friendly.

I have never in my life been to a pub and felt so unwelcome. The most weird experience I’ve ever had. Told it was full, then told I could get take away, on arrival, there were only 2 customers there, and I was told take away finishes at 8 o’clock, but we could eat it there, it was 7,30! Hostile owner, really very strange. Avoid at all costs.

The most unfriendly and unwelcoming experience I've had in a pub in my life, a barwoman (hope not the landlady!?), skinny, glasses short wiry hair ,in her 70s , I walked in said hi, she said have you scanned your track and trace?, yes, are you from the rugby club?, no why? they left a right mess last time they were here!!! I didn't have a clue what she was talking about !, Obviously we left at this poìnt, what a horrible woman, never again!

Found a hair in my food, when I tried to explain and show this to the owner of the pub she was very rude, not a nice person at all.
Very smelly toilets need cleaning.
