We are new to Delaware so we did not go with super high expectations. First, the man in the gift shop (Art) knows more about these planes than I ever forgot. His enthusiasm is contagious. And then right after we got into the hangar we made a connection with a volunteer named Chet--wow! He completely transformed our visit. What could... More

There are two phases, the inside museum with dioramas showing the role of air support for the various wars since the invention of planes and choppers, and the outside stands of various air freighters. The C-5 is HUMONGOUS! Being adjacent to Dover AFB, you also see C-5's and 130's in the air being flown as training, taking off, approaching, and... More

I've been to many Air Force bases in my life and this is the largest collection of planes, jets and bombers I've seen on a base. There are men and women there to answer questions and even guide you through a tour. Every third Saturday of the month you can go inside the planes outside. I strongly recommend school, home... Visited the museum many years ago and decided to revisit becuase you can go on a C5. Learned alot about mid air refueling and saw lots of interesting exhibits on the inside. Lots of interesting air craft on the outside. Hi point for me was walking the cargo hold of the C5.

What an awesome display of America' ability to get men and marerial where it needs to be and when! The indoor displays are authentic and mostly hands on depicting a wide range of time and conflicts. Outside on the Tarmac are a diverse group of planes you can go see into. We went into a C5 and all I can... More

What a great display of vintage aircraft. Volunteers give free tours and visitors are allowed to go inside aircraft, watch videos, and play on simulators. We stopped in on a very rainy day and all the outdoor aircraft were closed. We expressed our disappointment to one of the volunteers and he promptly escorted us outside and opened a C5 Galaxy... I've traveled by this place for the last few years and finally decided to take the family over Christmas break. Well it was so worth it. The amount of history there is incredible and the Veteran volunteers were funny, engaging and knowledgeable. Having the opportunity to climb in and around many of the aircraft there was unbelievably fun. They have... More

Yeah, I like planes and cars.... anything that goes fast... A nice little break from the casinos and local college kids. Stop by for a little bit of history.

The exhibits inside are well done as are the aircraft outside. I visited on a Thursday afternoon and didn't see any other visitors. I was approached by one person offering to be a tour guide but saw no one else during the entire time I was there walking around alone. If you are into air transportation this is a great... More

The displays inside and out are interactive. There is a mock cockpit, planes to explore and lots to read on the facts of involvement in the wars. The gift shop has unique items to thrill young and old. I love the visit even though it was almost 100 degrees outside that day.
