Stopped by this park when we got off the ferry and ended up spending about 2 hours here. This park has everything - a great fishing pier, access to the ocean, hiking and biking trails, observation tower and WWII history.

This state park was a former World War Two Artillery site (Fort Miles). There are still remains of the observations tower and artillery emplacements. There are a number of places to access the beach as well as walking and bike trails. It is great for a an off-season visit because it is likely very busy in the summer time.

This park has plenty of options for all seasons. Obviously, there are plenty of outdoor activities, but this park is full of history as well The out and back Gordon Pond Trail is excellent for biking, running or walking. Or make a loop by returning by walking along the beach. The WW2 Observation Tower at Fort Miles is worth the... More

Good state park with all amenities you would expect. Good walking, hiking and biking trails. Two or three locations to catch great ocean views and dune views. Great place for artists to paint quaint landscapes. Not crowded and peaceful in winter off-season.....

We go every year for a week long camping trips with friends in the beginning of the season, and haven't found a place to rival it. I have heard negative reviews about the small camp sites, but I usually do some research and figure out what spot is best, so we always try to get the biggest site we can... More

You can really enjoy a nice hike, a day at the beach or a relaxing park to take a walk. Very well kept, clean and spacious. Showers, food and drinks available.

We decided to see what Cape Henlopen State Park had to offer. WOW, what a beautiful spot. There are great walking trails, bike trails, historical markers. Looking very forward to returning.

January at the beach is amazing, good parking, bath houses closed in Winter. Went for a long walk and enjoyed what mother nature had deposited after the storm, SEA GLASS. Lots of people in summer, however miles and miles of open space with no houses or high rises.Thank you STATE OF DELAWARE!
