Thw Pencader Heritage Museum in Newark is free but only open limited hours. It gives visitors additional information about Revolutionary War history and many of the artifacts on display were donated by locals.

First it was free - that's a great place to start. Second, there were lots of friendly and super-knowledgeable volunteers who were very happy to share information... More

This small museum has an enormous amount of history - and items. I was very surprised. The history of the area is very interesting. Anyone from Delaware should visit.

It looks like a southern colonial house from the outside. It looks really inviting from the outside. We have been to Dickinson Plantation SE of Dover several years ago. It was very nice, but has limited hours. As soon as we get a chance we will check it out.
