Fun train ride

Not terribly exciting for adults, but 5 yr old granddaughter loved it. Ride out to a park, stop for a bit, and ride back. Still asks to go again.

One train car that is very comfortable, with local landmarks pointed out by the train conductor. The trip is short in duration but with the many sites pointed out by the conductor it is a very interesting trip.

The train ride is nice but I do feel as though there prices have slowly but surely increased to an unreasonable level, especially for some of the events. Train is comfortable, kids enjoy it and if you go on a day ride you are able to get out and visit some of the shops in Hockession, be advised there overall... More

My son loved looking out of the window in the train ride and the raster bunny made his rounds on the train visiting each child. We were able to take a pic with the bunny

I went on the Wilmington Railroad around Christmas time at night. That may have been my mistake. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful with all of the lights and there were plenty of cool photo opportunities, however night time views are not the best. It was difficult to see where the train was going and the neighborhood it was... More

Was a nice train ride, very informative. Children enjoyed it. Would have been nice if fall foliage was in full bloom. Christmas train sold out so must be good. Definitely something to experience.

We took the autumn leaf special ride to Mt. Cuba and the ride was magnificent. The coaches are beautiful and so was the scenery outside the train. Stunning fall foliage, numerous landmarks, bridges will soothe your eyes. We loved the ride and I'm sure so will everyone. A evening well spent I must say.

Recently, I had an opportunity to experience a wonderful ride on the Wilmington and Western Railroad through the Red Clay Valley, just outside the city limits of Wilmington, near Elsmere. The "Ride the Colors of Autumn" train excursion is offered on selected weekends in October and November, when the leaves and foliage in the area are at their peak and... More

Love the atmosphere and comfort of this train car. It traveled slow enough to take pictures with Windows open. You could smell the forest and streams. The delight on the face of the 4 year in front of me was priceless.
