The artifacts on display at the Museum represent individuals, cultural groups, and events significant to the region. very nice historical exhibits explaining county's history. the "lunch & learn" option is a monthly 45 min talk in an informal atmosphere.

Visited today with my Sister and Cousin. Displays were excellent and well laid out. Very VERY interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed the military displays for various campaigns that the sons of Bartow served in including (but not limited to) were both World Wars, Civil War, War of...More

Have been travelling to Florida for many years and have never come across this gem. Wonderful building well presented exhibits and very informative staff. We will be back to sample their special events.

It is interesting and free. There are a lot of exhibits like WW I and WW II, women in the early 20 th century, an interactive area for kids as well. The building is worth checking too. Then take a walk in downtown Bartow.

This museum is in a beautiful old courthouse The building is beautiful. There are so many displays and rooms to check out. From animals to Publix, they have a little bit of everything. You'll enjoy it and it's free!

I was really surprised how much history of Florida, USA and the World was found in this Museum. Lots of authentic pieces of history that almost “speak”to you. Very comfortable venue, with lots of space in a historical building. Very well thought out displays. Well...More

My wife and I are recently retired and beginning to enjoy local culture which we were too busy or too tired to enjoy in the past. We visited this museum based on their website claiming that they could give info on many other local places....More

This museum located in the 1908 courthouse is impressive with both permanent and temporary exhibits that cover the rich history of Polk County. The courthouse alone is worth a visit! A genealogy library is also housed in the building.

I really appreciated to scope of exhibits. While some like the local photography are temporary, we found all to be fascinating. Some place every Polk county resident should visit.
