We often start our visit to Pine and Bocilla Islands with a stop at this museum. It gives our visitors an idea of where they are and why that area is important.

With a wealth of historical artifacts, the Museum of the Islands is an excellent source for any type of knowledge of Pine Island and the surrounding area. Alone the newspaper clippings provide insight to the true history of modern island evolution. The volunteer staff are also awesome! They are not only helpful, they truly care about sharing the knowledge of... More

This museum has Calusa Indian artifact, many pioneer antiques and is a fun lace to send an hour. The person who was watching over the museum "Jerry" was knowledgeable and interesting.

Small Museum, but full of information on shells, island history, people... We liked it very much and think it is worth your time! Combine with other adventures on Pine Island or Matlacha.

This is a very nice small museum of local history. Lots of items from old Florida and will appeal tho those interested in learning about the Florida of yesterday and the Pine Island area.

We visited today and enjoyed it. However, the artifacts are generally items from years ago that will be wonderful nostalgia for older visitors but not a place for children or teenagers. Our volunteer guide didn't appear to be as knowledgeable about the artifacts as other volunteers mentioned in other reviews and that may have colored our opinion. However, seniors will... More

A very nice museum that contains a ton of history of the area and the surrounding islands. There is a ton of great history around this area, going all the way back to the native Calusa.
