I wouldn't visit this refuge in the middle of the day. I brought my grandchildren and we had to leave.

I love this place. Plenty of waterfowl, turtles, fish, and of course alligators. Also a short boardwalk trail that is nice.

The boardwalk is a nice walk through nature - peaceful frog and bird sounds. This wasn't a great place for taking pictures for me, but we did spot an owl and a woodpecker. Very zen.
