This is a great hike for Florida with some nice elevation changes and interesting vegetation not to mention great views. There were parts of this hike that felt like hills in AL/GA and other parts that seemed almost like NM or CO. Really interesting terrain...More

Planned this trip for a couple of months. Nice park. We walked the trails (without our dogs) and it was uneventful. Got quite a work out. Second night of trip I was walking my dogs on the dirt road around the park and my male...More

If you're tired of Florida's flat, swampy trails, this is the perfect place for a good, hilly hike. Not too challenging, but it will definitely get you sweating. A very nice change of scenery for a native Floridian who loves mountains. The lookout from the...More

Thank you for the great review. I agree it is a big change from the normal trails we encounter in Florida. This summer heat and the chance of a thunderstorm also add a little challenge to the hike. Definitely a must see in the fall....More

The park and campground are amazing. Very beautiful. However, we were forced to stay inside of our camper each night and didn't dare venture on the trails. During our two day stay, I personally saw and had to run off, 7 copperheads from the camp...More

Thank you for your review. I understand your experience of finding a place to eat close by. Living here at the park we experience that same feeling regularly. But I think that is what makes this place special. And that is great advice for our...More

This is a small campground surrounded by very nice hiking trails. There are many small streams that are great for your dog to cool off in. Saved me from having to carry water for her. The house tour was interesting and the ranger knowledgeable. I...More

You can fish with a valid licence. But river access is very limited, only one spot really after a hike but that trail was closed. And rangers said not a lot of fish in the area , so we did not bother to break out our poles.

Cabin and yurt don't have their own bathrooms. There are clean bathhouses shared by all sites with flush toilets.
