This is a nice city park and when you're there, it's hard to believe you are in the middle of the city. You are usually guaranteed to see a gator.

The park is relatively small but the trail is nice and there are several (recovering?) birds of prey to see including an eagle, a couple of hawks, a few kites, and a few owls. The young man who greeted us was polite and gave us...More

This is a great spot for riding your bike. Last weekend while I rode around the lake we spotted a big alligator. Bigger than I had seen in this lake before. And he was hungry, we watched him eat a turtle or two.

Really nice shaded park with great Florida oaks. The boardwalks winds their way thru the trees and give you a feeling of what Florida was like 100 year ago. The peacocks are showing their colorful feathers this time of year.

This facility rehabs injured wildlife and features a boardwalk thru the forest and swamp. Check out the caged birds of prey.

We were disappointed as it is in disrepair. We did however appreciate the attention to helping injured wildlife. We would have liked to have seen signage more appropriate and some things weren't even labeled. The nature trail is beautiful though and we saw many birds...More

Aside from the nature aspect, there are also lots of planned events. Take a walk on the wild side and bring a bagged snack.

That's tough to say when not knowing what hotel address you'll be staying. I'd suggest plugging the hotel's address into Mapquest and listing the address of the park to determine if that's a walkable distance for you.
