Come join us on a fun filled, narrated sightseeing tour of Clearwater's harbor. Enjoy a relaxing ride while you learn about our abundant wildlife, and view the area's dolphins in their natural environment. Every trip stops at Compass Island where you can collect shells, swim, snorkel and the kids can even hunt for treasure! Dolphin sightings are guaranteed*. Excursions depart from the Clearwater Beach Marina multiple times every day. Spend an hour and a half to an hour and forty five minutes with our highly trained crew in the Clearwater Harbor on board our 40 foot Coast Guard inspected excursion boat. For twenty to thirty minutes during your trip, the boat will stop at Compass Island where you will have the opportunity to shell hunt through thousands of shells, swim, snorkel (gear is provided) and enjoy the island. Our boats are available for charter as well. If you're looking for something more intimate with friends and family on the water we can accommodate. We have done weddings, rehearsal dinner socials, proposals, birthday parties, bachelor parties, anniversaries, school and church groups and family reunions.

We took this dolphin tour on our vacation and really enjoyed it. We went out to compass island and hunted for shells. Captain Jay and Bobby was so nice and was helpful in all of our questions and letting us know all about the dolphins and other sea life and all the homes on the shore line.

The tour was laid back and enjoyable. The crew was good about getting us close to the dolphins without bothering them. They also provided some educational information about the dolphins. The website boasts a stop on an island to snorkel or collect shells. It was a bit disappointing to find that the "island" was more like a sandbar. The sand... More

We went at 11 am and seen quite a few dolphins. We stopped at an island to look for shells and they gave me gold coins to hide for my 4 year old to find and he was so excited, so that was a nice unexpected bonus.

I called ahead of time and they said no need to make reservations - when their website said reservations are needed. When we got there they had closed up. I called and they said they closed due to winds. So we went on another dolphin boat and had a great time. I guess Encounters just wanted a day off.

Everytime we come to Clearwater Beach, we take the Encounters With Dolphins boat trip and have never been disappointed. The nice 2 hour trip is well narrated and many interesting sights are pointed out. We followed a pod of dolphins for about 1/2 hour on this trip. Also there is a stop at a small island to collect shells as... More

We enjoyed our trip. We saw several pods of dolphins. The boat was good enough. Plenty of cover to stay out of the sun. A little dated for restrooms. The island was tiny. Lots of other small, personal boats were there. Seamed to be a decent meeting place for locals. Not great for shells. Most were busted in many pieces.... More

This was the second dolphin tour we have done from the pier. I rated both tours 5 stars but for different reasons. The first tour we did a couple years ago was with Little Toot. Little Toot did a better job than Encounters with Dolphins of getting the dolphins closer to the boat and getting them airborne. Our photos from... More

If you want to experience a cruise on the inland waterway and spot the many dolphins that make the Clearwater area home, this is a very good option. They run about 3 excursions a day, and if you choose the last one, it usually couples as a sunset cruise as well. We saw about 10 dolphins the time we went... More

We chose this tour because it was slightly longer than the other dolphin boat rides in Clearwater and included the island shelling - for a lower price. We didn't book ahead of time, just walked up to the stand and happened to be on time for the next ride. We didn't buy the picture keychain of ourselves. Nor did we... More

First, there's a $2 off coupon in the area's map - available at the dock - that is essentially 10% off. Oh, and it costs $6 to park for the duration of the cruise which is conveniently not mentioned in the propaganda. The dolphins are 40 - 50 yards off the boat, so it's not really an encounter per se.... More
