For the third time we started our diving vacation by stopping off at KP hole and taking the water taxi up river to do a nice drift dive down the Rainbow River before heading down to Tampa to board a cruise ship for some blue water diving. The trip down Rainbow river is always beautiful and this time we marveled... More

Set up by our dive shop our group chose to snorkel instead of dive the river. It's and easy drift with the current. Tons of wildlife, fish birds etc. if we did it again we would wear our gear to dive the deeper holes and snorkel the rest . The park is very nice.

Great for all that can swim. There is lots of camping on both sides of river. A few miles away a new hotel. Holiday Express. Clear springs water. A bit chilly but feels great on a hot day. wear lots of sunscreen. I like to tie all tubes together and pack some cold drinks ( plastic containers) a few apples,oranges.... More

This is a great park for kayaking or swimming in the Rainbow River, a crystal clear river formed by the Rainbow Springs. There is a small daily entrance fee. Rent a kayak and paddle north upstream a couple miles to the Rainbow State Park and headsprings. Water temp is a constant 72 degrees. County residents can buy an annual pass... More

KP Hole is the best way to start your day on the Rainbow River. Access is easy, plenty of parking, clean restrooms & very inexpensive.

We had hoped to rent both Kayaks & paddleboards at KP Hole but alas, they don't rent kayaks in the Winter & paddleboards were only rented until 12:45 PM. I had called the week before to make reservations & was told reservations were not needed but no mention of no Kayak rentals in Winter! BUT the young man at the... More

Plenty of parking, snack bar and clean bathrooms. Numerous boat launches and swimming area. Very laid-back.

Great access to Rainbow River. Make note ~ pets not allowed. We carried our little doggie down river access ramp and entered our kayaks with no problems. Guess they just don't want pets running around the park.

This is a great spot to launch kayaks & enjoy the Rainbow Springs area a few miles upriver. Nice little park with clean restrooms & helpful staff. December is nice, but looks like it would be crowded in the summer
