The building was amazing and the scenery was really cool. You could tell they put a lot of time into giving you the feeling you were on an island. The vallet was nice and the wait staff was knowledgeable. That being said, I was not as impressed with the food or the show itself. The food was way overpriced for... More

We attended Mai Kai Restaurant as part of a CAA tour. The restaurant was fully booked and appeared to be popular with local residents. The Polynesian Show was excellent. We were offered three entrees - Prime Rib (it wasn't), Grilled Chicken Breast and Catch of the Day (salmon). I had the Prime Rib. It was the worst piece of Prime... More

Decided on this place for dinner because we were still able to order off a regular menu which satisfied our non turkey eaters. Waitstaff was professional and friendly. Very large restaurant. The older folk complained it was too dark and they were too far back in restaurant. Drink menu is extensive but vague about actual ingredients. Appetizers came spread out.... More

This seemed like a really neat idea for a work Christmas party. The show was entertaining and fun but everything else was less than. The place was kept dark and smelled of mildew. The food was equivalent to take out Chinese food that had been frozen and thawed. The drinks were ok. The show was the best part. Dessert was... More

This is a fun thing to do while visiting the Fort Lauderdale/Boca area. There is a dress code and reservations are needed. It was a little pricey but it was worth it. The meal was great and you the portions are large! You are served while you are viewing the show. It was quite dark in the restaurant so if... More

we arrived early for the show to ear dinner and were immediately invited to,the bar for happy hour and half priced drinks. The half priced drinks were what I would pay at home not half priced. If you want to drink buy before you go into the restaurant side, The food was good, but I doubt I would go there... More

Apparently, this place has been there forever. You can tell by how they can manage 200 people each dinner and show and do that twice a night. The food was excellent, service was very friendly and professional, drinks were awesome, not watered down, but there was a 50% off happy hour before the show. Now the show... It was really... More

I booked this location for my boyfriends birthday and I have to say it was the worst food I've every tasted. I prepaid for this meal and upon arrive the menu was very short, the tables were so close together I felt as if I was eating with the family next to me and the food was horrific. We started... More

Well, you get a Groupon for a "destination restaurant" that's been there for ages with the oldest Polynesian show in America, including Hawaii. That's exactly what we got. But also a whopping bill, even with having only one drink each and the Groupon. First, you are greeted by a military-style white-jacketed Mr. Roark from Fantasy Island who mans the roped... More

The restaurant/showroom is very Polynesian/Pirates of the Caribbean. It's a fun place to be and the drinks are fabulous. The service is efficient. The food is horrible and expensive for the quantity and quality served. I ordered Walnut Shrimp and the eight shrimp arrived chewy and difficult to cut. There were three walnuts and they were soggy. The steamed rice... More
