Our focus is on displaying ecosystems as complex communities of organisms interacting in their environment. At the Marine Ecosystems Exhibit, visitors can explore six different Florida marine habitats and learn about the complexity and importance of marine ecosystems. The largest aquarium is a model of a Caribbean coral reef. Other displays include living models of seagrass, mangrove, estuarine and nearshore habitats, as well as a deepwater Oculina coral reef. There are several smaller aquarium displays and a touch tank where you can meet some of our local sea creatures. Feeding Frenzy tours daily at 10:30am and Snack Time tours daily at 2:30pm. Behind-the-Scenes tour Saturday at 2:00pm.

This small aquarium (and the historical Florida/St Lucie County museum near it) are great for small doses with inquisitive kids. The aquarium docent did a fabulous job of walking through an informative talk about native fish and issues of interest.

Nice small-town feel to this aquarium which Smithsonian partners with. Local sea-life, excellent and informative staff. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff - they seem to enjoy being a part of the educational experience. You can join a guided tour or wander on your own. Takes as few as 10-15 minutes and maybe up to an hour depending on your... More

Great place to take children and adults to find out about the varied Florida cost. Though small, much is packed in and there is even a hands-on rock-pool to discover. Not overly expensive for what it is. Good gift shop

This is definitely not the Boston Aquarium or any other big aquarium, but we are so lucky to have this little educational aquarium so close by. It would be such a treat for youngsters but educational and informative for older individuals as well. There are interactive stations, a hands-on station and many tanks and exhibits to check out. So glad... More

This place was not expensive and my son had a great tome here. Very educational about the different areas in Florida. The staff was very helpful. My son really liked looking through the microscopes and also liked the shrimp cleaning his fingers. I was also able to get my wife's wheelchair around everywhere without any issues.

Our women's club recently visited the St. Lucie County Aquarium and went on one of the feeding tours led by a Smithsonian employee. Everyone Loved It! I had been their previously but never for a feeding tour. Our guide was so informative and impressed us all. I will definitely go back. It would be a wonderful place to take your... More
