My favorite place! Beautiful beach, town and people! Everyone is friendly and our dog loved the beach but not as much as I do!

This is the place to go if you want to escape the busier beaches on the island......you can actually read a book or take a snooze without having to hear someone being towed out for getting stuck (you really do need a 4 wheel drive on our beaches!!) You can swim, fish, collect shells, surf, people watch, and enjoy taking... More

My cousin had her wedding here, (free) I would recommend parking close by the board walk, there are several down the stretch.... Sand Dune 106 is a great spot... Right off of Julia Street, just behind the American Beach Community Center...

If you like beaches lined with high rises and having to ply through a crowd to find a spot to spread your, towel, Americsn Beach is not for you. If you like spending time on a beautiful beach with little development and very few people, then Americsn Beach is where you need to be. It's an amazing treasure.
