We went to John Pennencamp 1 and a half month after hurricane Irma had passed through which meant that we only payed 5 dollars for our car (with two passengers) because everything was still closed. We went to see the little beach and walk on...More

So only cannon beach was open due to Irma, and it was nice. There were actual cannons in the beach which I didn't expect. The swimming area was well marked, and there were shelters and shade trees on the beach. The bathrooms were large with...More

We only spent a couple of hours here and didn't snorkel; however, the park has a very reasonable entrance fee and it's well maintained. The beach is littered with coral and is not the white sugar sand type .... but the kids will love building...More

We took a snorkeling boat (the Dolphin) out to a reef for snorkeling the second week that they reopened after Hurricane Irma. Although they were running the office and gift shop out of portable buildings, it didn’t effect our experience. We had to rent wet...More

I went to key largo for the day from Miami (nothing is better than the Keys). Since key largo is the first key I decided to go to the beach there. We were a little concerned about going after hurricane Irma. The park charged a...More

Those little monsters were so annoying it was hard to sit outdoors even after spraying with repellant with Deet. The gang of raccoons were in amush waiting to steal food but could be held at bay by shining flashlights at them. Campsites/washrooms were very clean,...More

Did some RV camping here last week. Very friendly staff! Dive shop has not reopened and they are running limited snorkel charters. If you are camping there, bring insect repellant. No-See-um's are hungry and you will get a million bites! The park appears to be...More

Their boats to the reef are running (weather depending) kayak rentals and one hike path are open. When you ask the people that work there what is open their response is usually "I don't know"

Well, our admission was very reasonable at only $5 for the pair of us. However, due to the weather, the glass bottom boat that we came to ride could not go out. They're still recovering from the hurricane and I'm sure have made major efforts...More

We stopped by during the later part of October 2017 and there were still signs of damage from the recent hurricane. The normal entry fee $10 was cut in half due to limited facilities open. If everything was working it looks like a great place...More

I was there in June and July and didn't wear a wet suit except for my deep dives. As to the jellyfish didn't see any while I was there.

We'll you are not diving Australia or Belize but I enjoyed it. Yes the particular reef I dove had some coral that was bleached but the color and forms of the majority were fantastic. The fish life was breathtaking.

I would recommend taking advantage of the fairly calm waters of the beach for a 5yr old just learning to snorkel. There are fish to see, and it's fairly shallow in most of the roped off areas.
