It is a small beach with calm water. It would have been absolutely perfect with children. The sand was clean and the water was perfect for wading (zero depth to several feet deep on a gradual slope).

Would be GREAT for a family with small kids. Shallow water in cove. Safe snorkeling area. Nice little beach area with shaded picnic tables and abundant playground equipment. Walkway around cove for ocean viewing.

We stopped by here while staying for a week in Key Largo, and it was okay. I preferred the larger John Pennekamp state park that is not far away more due to the crowds here at this park. Great spot for a picnic. There is...More

As long as your expectations are in check, you'll thoroughly enjoy this little beach park. $5/person admission since it was a weekend. A sandy beach on a man-made lagoon, picnic tables in both sun and shade (some near grills),bathrooms, and not much else. Perfect! Also...More

Now don't get me wrong, this is not the biggest beach you have ever seen, but it is one of few in the area. Nice public area on the Atlantic side, right on the ocean. No access to the ocean due to rocks, but you...More

Decent little stop for the family. Beach, small aquarium, small playground, and charters for snorkeling. You won't spend the day - but it will fill a few holiday hours.

With a mere handful of beach views in Key Largo, this is a worth-while stop to see the gorgeous ocean and rock-lined lagoon. Pack a picnic, and take in the sights.

Harry Harris Park in Tavernier is a great park for little children to swim or just wade into the water. It is short ride from Key Largo. The park has a tidal pool, an area of water surrounded by a rock wall. It is shallow...More

My husband and I are staying for 2 days in Homestead, and will have just one day to soak up some sun before heading back to the snowy Buffalo NY area. We'd like to find a beach that won't take up our day driving to, where we can walk, sit on the beach and relax. Is Harry Harris the place? Or does anyone have other suggestions? Thank you!

My husband, brother and I are spending 2 weeks in Key Largo for the biking, kayaking, hiking, simply outdoors lifestyle. We are ages 53-71, very active and want a variety of outdoor activities and some leisure time. Any recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing, biking, and scenery? Where is the nicest beach to Key Largo? I would love to see a 'tropical type' beach at least once...any recommendations? Thanks!

way too much to describe. plenty to do and explore once you get here. this isn't Disney. As long as you have a place to stay you should just get on key largo time. relax enjoy.
