One of the reasons we book the hotel we do , is that it is very close to Mallory square. I enjoy walking around the square as there is so much to see & do. There are stores to browse, & attractions to see. From our hotel we can see the Sunset Celebration, but you can also enjoy it from... More

Probably overrated but if you are in Key West for a few days you have to see at least one sunset over the Gulf. There are more people than you would expect and some quasi entertainers on the Square. It is pretty and there are usually sailboats in the distance to add to your sunset photos.

You must spend a few hours here pre/post sunset- for the entertainment value alone! Fascinating and fun!

You have to stop in Mallory Square at least once after sunset....that's when the crowds appear and the entertainment begins. Such a variety, from magician to fire eater, to singers, accordion player; once we saw a performing pig and another the famous "cat man" was there with his performing cats. There are food stands and artists as well.

This is where it is at for sunset. There are people everywhere. We were excited to see the street performers and really enjoyed the cat show. However, we headed back to our hotel for a quick change of clothes and by the time we returned, the place was vacant. I think people start setting up an hour before sunset and... More

Can there be anyplace better than a glorious seaside square with wonderful street performers, hundreds of mellow happy people cheering the sunset and spectacular views in all directions? Key West in all its glory!

Go for the sunset, but go a bit early if you want to get somewhere to sit. There are a fair amount of buskers to keep you entertained before and after sunset.

The people, the food, the street artists and entertainers, and of course, the sunset. My first trip was twenty-five years ago, a lot has changed (except this one Houdini-esque escape artist who I swear was there twenty-five years ago). It's a little more upscale than I remember and the resorts make it a little harder to navigate but it's such... More

Every tourist spot has one thing you cannot miss during your visit and Mallory square is THE one. This was my first exposure to the Key West experience and it set the tone for my whole experience. Imagine a circus/fair/flea market with a laid back attitude. Look for the green flash at sunset!
