It was okay

The sand was weird in the water, it was almost sticky and sucked your feet in. Pretty view... Terrible parking. A lot of the walkway was closed off due to it being broken.

We stopped off here because it was free and close to where we were. It was pleasant for wading but the water is very shallow. There's not a lot of sand, but there are some nice little shelter-like spots with picnic tables and shade. The shoreline includes a mix of sand and mangroves. When my kids were little, they loved... Cute little place, but parking is a big problem. If you're thinking beach in the traditional sense, you will be disappointed. It's a small strip of sand. Windsurfers take up the space, but it was cool watching them.

This is a small local beach that was close by to where we were staying and had no admission fee. Not much parking available since the place is so small but it was nice enough. There were a lot of kite surfers there and we watched them for a while.

You have to walk out something like 50 yards before the water is deeper than your waist. Also the bottom here is all turtle grass. My BEST ADVICE- drive another 50 miles or so further south and go to a decent beach ( Bahia Honda State Park). I also don't like this beach because there's loads of no-see-ums here.

Looked like it was a good place to walk but couldn't as boardwalk was broken and mangrove trees too close to water to allow beach access total way

The boardwalk is in need of repair but you can access the whole area via the trails or wading through the water. Lots of little areas to explore. For some reason the beach by the main parking lot had about six dead sting rays and a half eaten shark today. Lots of garbage along the beach as well. Aside from... More

great little park, limited parking - but it is available on both sides of the park. They were doing some repairs on the walkway when we were there in Feb 2017
