Spirit Snorkeling of Marathon – providing daily snorkel trips to Sombrero Reef & Pirate’s Cove. Specializing in families and first time snorkelers, our friendly crew will take you on a fun filled adventure to the either the Sombrero Reef Marine Sanctuary and Lighthouse or to our special location on the Florida Bay—Pirate’s Cove. Sombrero Reef is the third largest barrier reef in the world and this beautiful 30 acre coral reef ranges from 2–30 feet deep with thousands of tropical fish. The Sombrero Lighthouse was built before the Civil War and today still helps mariners navigate the Keys with its light. Coral Reefs are among the most biologically diverse ecosystems on earth. They are second only to the tropical rain forests in the number of species they harbor, and indeed are sometimes called “The Rain Forests of the Sea”. You haven’t really seen the Keys until you’ve seen our under water areas. If the weather is too rough to go out to Sombrero Reef our dedicated crew will take you over to Pirate’s Cove, where the water is generally much calmer. Here you will see many species of tropical fish, under water plant life, lobsters and even sea horses. The water is quite shallow, making it a perfect spot to snorkel. Even sightseers enjoy our trips as many species can be seen from the boat. We take no scuba divers, we only go to shallow water snorkeling locations and Back Water Eco tours.

It was the best snorkeling trip! It was our first time the Keys and Dan and Jenna made the experience so much fun. We are already planning next year's trip back, and snorkeling with them is on the list. Bonnie

We had an amazing afternoon snorkeling trip with the very professsional Dan and Jenna on their great catamaran. Water was clear and pretty calm (winds around 3-5m/s). Would recommend them to anyone öppning for good snorkeling at the barrier reef outside the keys

We scheduled at the last minute after hearing about Spirit from fellow travelers at Dry Tortugas. Captain Dan took us out to Sombrero Reef on a perfect day. Amazingly beautiful!

We had a blast with Spirit Snorkeling/Captain Pips. Captains Dan and Jenna were so much fun and made the trip an even better experience. They both gave us tons of history, as well as recommendations for eating and kayaking. Fantastic!

We had a great time on the boat with Dan and Jenna. Unfortunately the water didnt cooperate and it was extremely difficult to see any of the reef because of the murky water.

We get that the weather is out of anyone's control. They were taking us bayside. We wanted to cancel but if we did it would cancel for everyone else. We get to pirates cover. It was super choppy and you couldn't see more than 6"...More

Most people in the keys don't want to get up early in the morning, so we reduce the price as an added incentive at 9am.

Yes we have storage buckets, but you may want to place the items in a waterproof pouch. We do sell waterproof pouches at the Spirit kiosk.

Sorry for the delay response, I am double checking with the Captain, we have recently moved the boat and I am not sure if the dock can accommodate. Is it a travel wheelchair or larger?
