We (me, wife, 8/11 yo boys) really enjoyed the trolley tour on a hot day. It wouldn't be a long hike but getting the historical background from the volunteers and having some shade was great. The kids also enjoyed feeding the fish in their small...More

We enjoyed our visit to Crane Point. There is a museum, gift shop, some trails (a little muddy here and there but definitely passable), and some older homes -- one from Bahamian settlers about 100 years ago and the one built by the Cranes in...More

I have been to the Keys at least 100 times, and never knew this was here. I am so delighted my sister in Phoenix found it and asked if we could stop while she was visiting. I LOVE old Florida history and Crane Point has...More

I was surprised when this was recommended as a place to visit in Marathon. I figured my toddler would enjoy the birds and nature trail but that it would be good for an hour tops. Well, I was wrong! This place was actually a nice...More

Be sure to take the guided tour when you go. You will learn lots about the history of Marathon and the Keys as well as about their vegetation and wildlife. Beautiful walking trails. Bring bug spray and sunscreen.

An extremely well done nature preserve that illustrates how the keys were before settlement. Well signed with a nice museum. Very nice walks to the sea. Don't miss the wild bird hospital.

Hi. I see in your review that you "can do a kayak trip". Did you do it? Trying to decide if it's worth it to do their kayak tour or go elsewhere. Thanks.

No, no kayaking for me. But, had my (grown) son been along with us, he would have definately pronounced it "pretty good".
