Even though the weather was completely lame with Tropical Storm Alberto, I decided to take a peek at Sombero. It’s hidden back behind a school and residential section. It’s nice, but small compared to SoCal beaches I’m used to. It’s somewhat protected and shallow, so...More

Although some work is still being done (Irma cleanup) the beach is open. There is plenty parking, picnic tables, and covered areas if you don’t want to sit in the sun

The beach is clean and "sandy." Most beaches in the keys are really only dusty coral but not here. Water is clear and calm and there are nice amenities.

This is a nice little spot in Marathon to sit back and relax. There are picnic tables, benches, bathrooms, and a foot wash. There is also free parking. You can take a walk on the beach or bring your own chair and relax!

Nice quite beach, one of the few left that allows dogs on a leash. It's quite small but the water is lovely and the sand is perfect, very well maintained.

Visited Sombrero Beach last week. Some of the beach is still in need of some repair after the hurricane but 3/4 of the beach is currently usable. Had a great day walking the beach and going into them water. Great sandy beach.

A beautiful sandy beach that sits at the mouth of a river and the ocean. We drove here once and paddled here from the SkipJack Resort. A little battered from Irma but still beautiful!Beautiful spot to spend the day. Grills and parking.

The beach was very nice and well kept. Had a very nice swim area, clean bathrooms, and nice shower areas close to the cars. There was a cool little area where we able to see lots of little fish and crabs as well.

We were told about the beach from a local it’s signposted from the main road and says 2 miles and we were in a car. Still a few places roped off due to hurting damage but in no way affects the experience. It’s a good...More

They had very nice ones. Irma did a job on all of the beach facilities. Don’t know when things will be repaired and back to normal.

Yes most of the beach is covered in feet of sand, they have bulldozing to clean up but have a long way to go. There is a small area open now
