Recovery efforts are still ongoing at the beach. Free parking and a beautiful area to soak up the son, swim, and a great area to practice snorkeling for families. Would recommend highly. Crowds were low during our visit.

Half of beach open. Very pretty area but crowded. Lots of seaweed this time of year. Seems to be bouncing back from storm.

Nice beach on the ocean with a small gulf partially occupied by a small mangrove forest on the opposite side. The beach is equipped with facilities for picnic (bbq, gazebo) and free shower. The access to the sea is not confortable due to the gravel...More

We were not too sure what type of beach we were hitting when the first thing we saw was a naked dude near the outdoor showers. Regardless, we parked, ate lunch and walked the short beach. Cool people watching.

Gorgeous beach. Very clean. I’d definitely come back on a nicer day than when we stopped by. Off the beaten path and it was raining so there were no other people there which would be awesome on a hot summer day.

A beautiful clean beach. This is a nice quite beach away from the busy well-known big sites. Nice clean clear sea. Not to busy either

Sombrero beach is back open...well, partially. Work continues on getting everything back up and running but there is plenty of white sand for everyone and the water is as clear as ever. Plenty of free parking, restrooms, and facilities make it one of the best...More

Sombrero beach is one of the “better beaches” in the keys but don’t get excited bc the keys are NOT known for their beaches. And the seaweed is usually always pretty bad... it is dog friendly, must stay on a leash.

We stopped by Sombrero Beach to see how it looked post-Irma. The beach looks great, even better than before the hurricane, very nice and worth a visit !

They had very nice ones. Irma did a job on all of the beach facilities. Don’t know when things will be repaired and back to normal.

Yes most of the beach is covered in feet of sand, they have bulldozing to clean up but have a long way to go. There is a small area open now
