We visited the Florida State Park, Curry Hammock on two occasions and found it to be a very restful place to sit and relax. There is a limited amount of parking, a children's play area, public amenities, picnic tables and kayak hire.

Very nice beach and park. Restrooms are well maintained. Signage is good and the park is very clean and picturesque.

We spent half a day at this park, rented Kayaks for two hours and explored the surrounding keys on a self guided trip. Reasonable rental rate for the kayaks and the waters are mostly protected making for relatively easy paddling. Ate a picnic looking out over the Atlantic." Hiked " the mile and a half nature trail through the hammock... More

This is a great park. We are staying in the campground. Secluded sites, oceanfront for a lot of them, secluded beach, real sand (not like the sand at Pennekamp), easy sites to get in (we have a big rig). Definitely prefer this park for camping over Pennekamp. The only negative, as is with all of the State Parks in the... More

Traveled here w/ husband & two kids (ages 1 & 3). Wonderful playground, my 3 yr old was in heaven. Nice beach area. Great place for a picnic. Lots of locals were kite-surfing, really enjoyed watching them. Admission was about $5. Overall very well-maintained state beach park!

Great park we camped here for the night only allowed because it was the start of the kayak challenge from Marathon to Key West. The facilities such as showers and rest rooms were clean and hot showers very impressed with the campgrounds. The weather was cold and dreary do not able to explore and early in the morning we set... We were disappointed to find out that we couldn't rent a kayak due to the wind (we wanted to paddle the mangroves) but enjoyed our stroll along the beach from One end to the other. Saw an osprey and watched the pelicans dive for fish. Took the nature trail which you access a short distance down A1 and that was... More

Small launch area for canoes and kayaks. After two hours of fishing from our canoe with thawed shrimp, we determined there are no fish in the Lagoon, although we saw minnows, and pelicans were diving for their food.

To get to the hiking area, you don't have to pay admission to the park! It is located on the bay side, about 1 mile south of the main park entrance. There is a parking area off of the bike path. You follow the bike bath a short distance north and you find the entrance to the hiking area. It... More
