Shingle Creek Park could easily be missed, nestled between chains of enormous fast food restaurants and shops hawking off-brand Disney and Apple goods to tourists. In fact, I did drive past it and have to double back (a tip - drive slowly in the right lane when approaching from the east; the driveway to enter the park is very small... More

My family and I really enjoyed walking this trail. It is very scenic and a little gem in such a busy city. The only issue was that part of the trail is still under construction so it is not a complete loop. We had to turn around and trek back our original trail. Definitely a great place to get some... Peace, serenity and nature are available just minutes from the attractions along 192. I like to think of this as 4 conservation preserves, interconnected by the shingle creek. This is a very important waterway as it is widely recognized as the headwaters of the everglades. There is a large natural preserve on each east and west side of the south... More

Everybody really enjoyed their 2 hour kayaking adventure. Those that didn't get on the water enjoyed a short hike and visited the welcome centre across the road (subway) providing info on early Florida ++. Well worth a visit and free!

Firstly there is a review of Ruba Park which is not Shingle Creek so ignore in context of this place and no idea why it is even on here? We stayed near to this and drove past it and we did not know what it was when we drove in. It is an absolute oasis in the midst of such... More

Looking for something a little different to do and we discovered Shingle Creek. Took a 2 person kayak out for a 2 hour excursion down the river. The attendant at the rental place was very friendly. He gave us brief overview of the area and set us up with our equipment. Would definitely recommend!!

Was my first experience on a Kayak, they explained us how to handle the oars, how to stop, and to handle it. It was fun, really we enjoyed it. The park is beautiful, you're in touch with nature. They were two hours of relaxation, fun and would repeat. The employee who greeted us on September 14, around 1pm, was very... More
