My teen was not impressed, but her grandmother and I had a quaint chuckle while appearing to roll downhill. The sign describing the legend of Spook Hill is a bit confusing, but it was good, clean physics at work. Go gravity!

Driving east to west and back and forth on State Road 60, I’ve had the opportunity to drive through Lake Wales, Florida, on occasion. When doing so, I’ve frequently stopped at Spook Hill, a popular gravity hill located on a significant range of sand and...More

We stopped by here after visiting Bok Tower Gardens which was amazing by the way. We stopped on the white line waited as it told us to and......we went backwards down the hill as expected. What a waste of time!!

I had heard about Spook Hill from friends so we decided to find it and see what the hype was about. While it is an optical illusion, it is still pretty cool. We parked at the line twice to see our car "roll" down the...More

Spook Hill has an interesting story attached to it. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to Bok Towers and did the trick a few times. A cool illusion, but not a must-see. I'm sure kids would get a kick out of it...More

Fun and interesting! We tried it with a big dully truck and a van. Both vehicles rolled right back up hill on their own! Amazing.

This is an off-beat "attraction" in Lake Wales. Here's what to expect... 1. Its free, so don't go expecting to pay anything. 2. It takes only a few minutes to "experience" the phenomenon, so don't carve out a whole day (or half a day or...More

Stop your car, put it in neutral, release the brake, and enjoy the sensation as your car backs up a hill. This is a one-way road so you can not enjoy the other way, which would be better. We also tried parking the vehicle and...More

Read the sign at the bottom of the hill, stop on the line and put your car in neutral. And hey presto, you seem to be rolling backwards up a small hill! Quirky optical illusion and a bit of fun!

Drove several miles to see this place. We were disappointed to say the least. I would not recommend this to anyone. Save the day and visit Bok Tower. That's a great way to spend the day.
