My grandkids, now 6 and 7, were here for their annual visit to the Children’s Museum. They like going to it, but every year we find a lot of things that arent working, which is disappointing. The instrument section is an example of this, including the big floor piano. Also, at the grocery store where kids can pretend to shop, the checkout registers barely work, which is frustrating for older kids. Employees anywhere in the exhibits are nonexistent, so you can’t ask anyone a question about how things work. (But we noticed that a lot appeared out of nowhere when our session ended. Maybe they were doing activities in the classrooms?) We attended a fun snowglobe-making session in one classroom, tho we thought we were there for igloo-making with marshmallows. That turned out to be on another floor, so we missed it. It just seems like this should be a better run place, but it never seems to improve. It’s definitely not for kids older than 10.

A majority or exhibits were broken and geared for children under age 5. My 4 and 6 year old were board and went through the entire museum in less then a hour. The outdoor play area was under construction and we were not notified of this when we purchased tickets and entered the museum. A poor use of time and money.

We've been coming to the museum almost every single time we come to Miami from Key West. A great place to spend some quality time together. My son loves it even though he saw practically everything there. The staff is always polite. The only negative thing is that on our last visit several things, like the checkout lines at the pretend grocery store, didn't work. And the overall feeling that many parts of the museum are in some serious need of remodeling. However, we still enjoyed our time there.

I ususally visit this place at least twice a month. This is a great place for family entertainment experience as well as to bring knowledge and learning to my daughter. She really love this place. One interesting note: I really like how local companies contributed to built pavillions to allow kids to play about healthcare, supermarket, etc using local branding recognition and adding some "product placement" with their brands, this is so smart and kids love it. 100% recommended.

Excellent customer service - above and beyond.
I was with Spanish speaking family - they found a team member to help us right away.
I am very thankful because my Spanish is not fluent
We had so much fun and brought home sweet memories

My husband and I visited the museum with our nine year old daughter and the three of us loved it.
The fee of $10.00 per person is a bargain when you take into consideration all the interactive stations they have. Our favorites were the Carnival cruise ship, the port of Miami, Publix and the Robotics exhibits.
All the exhibits are well maintained and operational unlike other local museums we have been to. The staff is extremely helpful and eager to answer questions and take a family photo, which is a treat in South Florida where rudness seems to be more common everyday.
Get there by opening time 10:00 AM to avoid all the crowds from the birthday parties which seem to start at 12:00 PM, you can see everthing in a couple of hours.
Public parking garage is accross the street, rate is $1.00 per hour. Three hours should give you ample time to see all the exhibits. Don't make our mistake, we paid for six hours and were done in 2 1/2, whoever got our parking space got a gift that day!
The museum has a well stocked gift shop with aquarium, animals, arts and crafts kits for children of all ages. Prices were moderate if not reasonable.

It's not that MiChiMu doesn't have some very cool exhibits - steerable boats, fishing poles, moveable cranes, a mock mini grocery store, pretend doctors office with tools, music/noisemaker room, coloring/art center... it's just WAY overpriced for what you get.
Even when you spend several minutes at each exhibit, you can finish the whole place in under 2 hours - 2.5 if you play on the playground outside (which is not that much cooler than any of the free parks in the area - particularly southpointe park on nearby miami beach). When you consider that you're paying close to $20-$25 per person (children AND adults both pay)... it's just kinda low value. You'd think you might get included parking for that - but no, not really. We've gone for "special exhibits" like seuss or wizard of oz and been really disappointed... they often seem to just "revamp" an existing exhibit. For instance, they recently "debuted" pirate themes - that used the same boat structure in the small-kids room with some variations to the decor. We were not impressed.
Now - if you happen to have a coupon on admission (they're sometimes on Groupon), or if you have membership at other Miami attractions (zoo, museum of science, etc) you can get discounted admission and then it may be worth it.

Stopped at the museum to spend an afternoon with our 6 year old daughter. The price was high and the same for both adults and children (+2 years and above full price). No breaks in price - not even for larger families. The only attendants present were the cashiers and entrance- and they were clearly indifferent in their manner.
The learning exhibits seemed to long have been in poor repair and, in many cases, were no longer functioning. The "hands' on" sections with art activities (paper, glue, and other materials) had no staff present, and the materials were completely used and strewn across the rooms. Children were running around the place from the lack of stimulating activity inside.
On the other hand- in the off-limit, staff areas you could see they were holding some form of event or training in a clean, cared-for glass area.
Was glad to leave the place after only 1/2 an hour though with $70+ less. I would recommend others consider the McDonald's playground as an affordable family alternative to this poorly run 'museum' ;-)

I recently visited Miami Childrens Museum, as a mother of a 4 year old boy I was very excited since aI have lived in Miami all my life yet never been to MCM. I went on a saturday, we got there parked, by the way you also have to pay for your car and is recommended to take cash with you for the machine since it didn't accept my card. While walking to the entrance I felt water sprinkled in my face when I looked en up they were pressure washing all the walls and didn't mind if cuatomers were entering and getting wet with dirty water..... payed everything fine until we got to the attractions that looked old, were missing items, many didn't even worked. Hope with all the kids that attend and parties they have they could start renovating the attractions. Also make sure to take your kids well fed. And have an idea where to go eat after because I didn't find any place to eat except for the gift shop. Kids don't see what grown ups see, the details.... all they do is have fun but it could be more taken care of.

I see a lot of positive reviews and I can't help but think maybe they haven't been to other children's museums? For the price of this one, I expected more. Many of the areas had broken or missing items so that they weren't functional and this included much of the Lion Guard traveling exhibit that was a feature during this visit. The dental/medical area was actually worn black from use and needs desperately to be cleaned and replaced. Like others, we were disappointed in the hyped "sand" exhibit which was merely a sand table that could not accommodate many children and left many of the younger ones screaming in anger that they could not reach/fit because of the many older children that were eager to do the activity. Staff was rude and looked bothered to be there. I have been to children's museums all over the world, this was the worst.

Buen dia! Cuanto tiempo necesito para visitar el museo? Con dos horas es suficiente o se demora mas tiempo en recorrerlo??

Is there a coat/baggage check? We would be coming from a cruise and would like to visit the Museum before going to the airport, so we'll have our all of luggage with us.

I do not remember seeing any thing like that but they very well may have a place you can use to store your items, it you call ahead.

Kind of early for total understanding, but if part of a family, why not! Early exposure, except for noise should not hurt. More so, as I think infants enter free of charge.
