South Pointe Park is great any time of day, but I would have to say that sunset is my favorite time to visit there. Parking can be a little tight, but it is well worth the visit.

A great walk along the beach from one extreme to another on Ocean Drive. You can also go by bike. There are some bars. You can see the cruises departing. Beautiful sunset.

Grab a bike and ride around the southern tip of Southbeach. Start at Montys (great happy hour!) and ride past Smith&Wollensky down to the pier. Amazing sunsets. People walking their dogs, baby strollers, just beautiful.

Yes, Miami beach is free. Fine for families. Safe. Rarely, as there are a number of international visitors, there may be a bit of discrete toplessness, but not too "in your face." It's a lovely, wide beach. Key Biscayne... More
