Since 1970, Art Basel's goal has been to connect the world's premier galleries and their patrons, as well serving as a meeting point for the international art world. Now, over forty years later, its three fairs - in Basel, Hong Kong and Miami Beach rank as the premier shows of their kind, presenting 20th and 21st century art with a strong curatorial perspective. In our American show, leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa show significant work from the masters of Modern and contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars. Paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works of the highest quality are on display in the main exhibition hall. Ambitious large-scale artworks, films and performances become part of the city's outdoor landscape at nearby Collins Park and SoundScape Park.

Art lovers of the world come to Art Basel Miami. Amazing, curious and interesting pieces on display. I was inspired on so many levels. I met awesome artists and art lovers. I can't wait to go back. Even if you do not like art. Something here will grab your attention. Miami does a superb job at hosting.

I can only compare this show to the Armory Show in NYC. This is similar but being in Miami in Dec is a great time. This is a busy week in Miami and hotel prices will increase for this time period so be sure to book well in advance.

I've been to Art Basel twice and have found it to be a disappointing experience both times. Workers in the booths tend to talk only to people they judge to be able to purchase their products. This, unfortunately, does not always work out for them. I was seriously interested in a piece of art, but the people staffing the both... More

Came here with my husband we had a pretty good time watching artwork. Only part I didn't like was it took us almost an hour to find parking

I look forward to this every year. This year was particularly great with a lot of focus on Russian art due to the pending anniversary of their revolution. I know it's a problem to park, but I have the good fortune of being able to walk. By next year the new Convention Center should be open with more parking.

There are many holidays and many sunny days in Miami but in my point of view nothing beats the Art Basel period. The city is full of visitors and there is art all over the place. If planning to visit Miami in December save the dates for the first weekend of the month. That's when normally most of the events... More

First off, weather was beautiful in December. There is so much to do and see during Art Basel, since it also Design Miami and public art, events, and people from all over the world are visiting to experience the vibrant city. If you are doing Art Basel AND the public events going on in the city, it can be overstimulating,... More

Unless you are part of Art Basel it is not worth it. Why? Hotels price hikes their rooms to the point where one can fund a 3rd world village for a year! It's just one big excuse to throw "exclusive" parties for see and be seen wanna-bes. If it's all about art you can better go to Mastricht in the... More
