The 2.5 hour manatee viewing eco tour is the only local eco tour that starts in the heart of the Everglades, and takes only minutes to get to the 10,000 Islands and the Gulf of Mexico. The tour is located at the home of South Florida's largest herd of manatees. Viewing the eco system of the Everglades in the comfort of a covered boat is a true Everglades experience. You are likely to see manatees, alligators, dolphins, and turtles, as well as many species of rare and endangered tropical birds. Some of the tropical birds species are the Ibis, Egret, Great Blue Heron, Osprey, Pelican, and the American Bald Eagle. The tour is fully narrated by knowledgeable local Captains and their boats are stable, comfortable and USCG approved. You'll learn interesting facts on the manatee, alligator, dolphin, and tropical bird species, along with information on the Everglades. Our 3 hour Manatee Ecotour/Shelling Adventure is rapidly becoming Double R's most popular tour. This excursion has all of the elements of the shorter tour but includes a 30 minute stop at a deserted island called Whitehorse Key where our guests depart the boat for 30 minutes of shelling and exploring.

Our 3 hour tour with Captain Mike was fun, informative and well worth the price. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife, and we saw tons of manatees and birds, and even some alligators and a couple of bottlenosed dolphins. My husband and I went with my 88 year old mother and uncle and all thoroughly enjoyed... More

Easy to get to, if you call and follow the owners clear directions (others on our tour put the wrong address into Google maps, which is apparently a frequent occurrence). The captain was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the ongoing developments. His delivery was very natural and didn't feel like a rote memorization of a specific... More

Our family and another, both with young girls (ages 7 & 8), had an outstanding Christmas Eve on the 4 hour Naples Eco and Backwater Fishing Tour with Captain Carl as our guide. Not knowing how the girls would tolerate boating or fishing (fishing was a first for both of them), we were drawn to the variety that this tour... More

We had captain Carl and the tour was terrific. We saw several manatee, dolphins, osprey, tri-color herons, white pelicans, and many other birds. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very well spoken. The four of us had a great time.

My adult daughter and I were the only ones on our tour which was really nice. Unfortunately we did not see any dolphins, manatees or alligators. Lots of birds and mangroves. It was fairly interesting for us, but those with little kids might be bored.

Captain Mike is the best! Really outstanding job not just on knowledge but in making sure the family had a wonderful time. Couldn't ask for more!

We just returned from a private three-hour boat tour with Captain Mike to explore the Everglades…WOW! Educational with a beautiful display of nature: Dolphins (both males hunting and females playing - the females swam right up to the boat and put on a display that didn't require any rewards ;), alligators + a HUGE alligator (with his Mrs.) that Captain... Birds, Gators and a free dolphin show. There is simply no better way to see and learn about the beauty of the everglades that Double R's. No air boats here. Instead you get an amazing guided tour of the everglades on a very comfortable and stable boat by a captain who should have been a teacher. Our guide took us... More

We booked a 3 hour trip and had a lot of fun! Only saw 1 manatee that was deep in the water, but then saw some HUGE gators, at least 5 dolphins, and tons of birds. The trip to the island to shell was fun, and even though it wasn't what I expected, we did manage to find some treasures... More

After a week of theme parks in Orlando, we headed to Naples for something a little more serene. As a family of 4, including a son of 21 and a daughter of 22, however, we needed something to do other than sit on the beautiful sands of Naples Beach. Looking on tripadvisor produced Double R's and after a bit of... More
