This was just one of the stops on drive south on A1A through Canaveral National Seashore. Check out the visitor center at Apollo Beach for a bit of local history. Several beach pull offs to cross over to beach.Suggest driving to south end first and work back. By the time we got to the end there were no parking places.... More

You might get lucky in the spring summer season and see active manatee. Walk to the end of the pier, or park in parking lot 6 or 7. Walk the trail next to the seashore. The manatee gather here to mate. The manatee seem to follow any boats in the cove. You will see lots of splashing! Good luck!

Lovely walk to the house by the road and can walk back the woods. The house is well restored, the view of the river is very restful. Great place to get a feel for old Florida.

Its a little bit of a walk thru the "jungle" to see/visit but worth the walk. Great history attached to it.

A well preserved house that was the home for early Florida entrepreneurs trying to scratch a living from the poor farm land along the coast, and ultimately getting defeated by it! A nice glimpse into the struggles of Florida over the decades of exaggerated hopes, troubling finances, and killer storms. Worth a short stroll to learn and reflect.

located inside the National park, this house is on the river front in a beautiful peaceful location. I could have sat on one of the rockers on the front porch all afternoon! The inside of the house contains a lot more history and background to the area. Who knew there was once a whole township located on that site ?... More
