This was the only spring we managed to stop at while passing through the area. As it was off season the shop was closed but also the spring was very quiet which suited us well. We didn't stay too long or explore the trails as it was a hot day (to us anyway!), but enjoyed sitting by the water and... More

I have been coming to Juniper Springs to kayak the run for over a decade and I have never had a bad experience. The just is just over 7 miles downstream through crystal clear spring water. The run will normally take you between 3-5 hours so plan accordingly and bring along a snack and plenty to drink. The starting section... More

Great place to go swimming in the spring, camp, canoe or walk the trails. We saw River otters and alligators on the walk.

Located close to RT 40, Juniper Springs is a gorgeous. I was concerned about the walk for my mother and myself but my worries were unfounded. We didn't visit to kayak or canoe or even to swim, but we wanted to visit just to enjoy the outdoors. Arrive early enough and you can park in the handicap or closer to... More

Great swimming area and springs with a high quality concession stand that serves good food. It's deep and you can dive. It's a great canoe/kayak run, very clean and trash free, lots of wildlife. Get ready: It's over 5 miles long. There is a halfway point. It used to have a picnic bench and rope swing, they should replace them... More

Getting to Juniper Springs turned out to be a little of a challenge. It shouldn’t have, but I didn’t look at the map close enough before we left our hotel room and the maps on our Garmin Nuvi (which are recent) and Here Maps on my Microsoft Lumia didn’t know were it was. So I called and the person that... More

Went canoeing down Juniper with my boyfriend and a friend. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The water was shallow and it was shaded most of the way, getting very narrow at certain parts. Anyone who has ever gone down Rainbow Springs, it is not like that. It took a long time, I was not prepared for how long it... More

We took the 4+ hour Kayak down Juniper run. The wildlife including gators were impressive. Don't get out of your Kayak you don't know whats below the surface. Fun time, bring lots of water, sunscreen, and energy.

Back in the 80's and 90's this was the best place around. The canoe run was the so much fun. After the storms in the early 2000's the canoe run is almost unrunnable. Major safety hazard. They told us it would take an act of congress to get all the fallen trees cut from the run. Shut it down before... More
