Nice countryside. Drove the loop but didn't see much wildlife. It WAS 11 am and getting quite warm so elk were "hiding". Saw lots of bison wallows.

I'm so glad that land like this is protected. Drove thought the Buffalo and Elk loop, saw Buffalo and turkey, no elk. The area is beautiful, nice visitor center. Very friendly staff. Did one trail at the nature center.

We were visiting family near this park and stopped briefly at just a couple of the attractions. At the Bison and Elk prairie, we saw herds of both species out grazing. We also enjoyed some scenic overviews. The area seems to have far more to...More

Where would be the best place to stay in hopes wildlife will walk up for viewing? campground or cabin? does one offer close proximity to water and wildlife very close? If so, please tell me where so I can reserve. There will be my husband and I for our anniversary but our 2 teenagers will be with us as well. We will probably bring our canoes and plan to hike some, interested in the horseback riding there, we love being up close and personal to nature after our trip to yellowstone national park
